How is it that summer goes by so much faster than the rest of the year? Here it is August already and summer will soon be over, and kids will be heading back to school. Target and Walmart are stocking the shelves with back-to-school items, teachers are preparing their classrooms, and families are enjoying the last few days of vacation (or eagerly waiting for school to start because the kids are climbing the walls).Read More
As I was trying to decide what to write for this month, I found an article about holidays in August. I had no idea these days existed.
- August 1st is National Girlfriends Day. It honors women who are there for their lady friends. What a great excuse to get together with your girlfriends for some fun and laughs. I might just have to schedule some much-needed girlfriend time!Read More
The tradition of celebrating Christmas in July probably began in the 1980’s. In Australia, where it is known as “Yulefast”, many families have a traditional Christmas dinner on July 25th. The tradition has grown and is now celebrated in many places across the world.
I thought these fun recipes would be adorable (and delicious) for a Christmas in July party.Read More
I love shopping for new embroidery designs and sewing patterns. It’s like being a kid in a candy store. So many pretty things to look at and choose from. I have more designs than I can possibly sew in my lifetime, but I still look for new, exciting designs that I think others would enjoy. Usually I look for designs that can be used in more than one way, so they are not only cute, but useful and practical as well.
For instance, the microwaveable bowl holders can be used to protect your hands when handling hot items out of the microwave or cold items such as ice cream. They can also be used as a hot pad or a cute bowl to hold all kinds of little trinkets. Imagine them with fruit on your kitchen counter, desk supplies on your desk, or holding sewing supplies by your sewing machine.Read More
April showers bring May flowers. Although the flowers make me sneeze, I am so happy to have May come around. May is such a nice month. Winter has finally gone (well hopefully anyway. I do remember a blizzard on Mother’s Day one year but that’s another story). Summer will soon be here and with summer comes travel.Read More

Kidderbug Kreations was born June 2014 because I wanted to create beautiful, useful gifts for people to give their loved ones. I was going to be an empty nester soon and had some life-changing events happen that required me to change directions in my career. Since my grandmother had taught me to sew and I enjoyed being crafty, it seemed a logical choice to explore this side of me more fully. Having learned how to embroider several years ago, I decided to combine the two arts into one. Since I get bored easily, I have a multitude of creations, many of which are one-of-a-kind items.Read More
I had an opportunity to purchase a planner at a reduced rate in exchange for my honest opinion and I jumped at the chance. Jen Frost of FaithAndFabricDesign on Etsy has a cute little Customizable Catholic Planner for women. It comes in a print version, which is what I got, as well as a downloadable version. She shipped promptly, and I received a well wrapped package with a cute little ribbon to hold it securely in place. I had her punch mine so all I had to do was purchase the ARC rings (which I got at my local Michael’s).Read More

Christmas was always my favorite holiday of the year. I looked forward to the day after Thanksgiving so we could put up the tree and decorate it with ornaments collected over the years. I enjoyed lying under the tree and looking up at the lights.

Back in the dark ages, when the dinosaurs roamed the earth, and I still had small children, we didn’t have the selection of electronics that are available now to entertain children on long road trips or plane rides. We used other activities to keep them from annoying each other and constantly asking, “Are we there yet?” Some of my favorite activities to do with them were singing children’s songs from the tapes we took along. Yes I realize cars don’t utilize cassette tapes anymore but you can use your ipad, ipod, or cd’s or any other version of children’s music that your kids enjoy. Music has so many benefits and this website has some great information about how beneficial music is to kids. So not only are you passing time, you are helping their development at the same time. Way to multitask mom!Read More

A few months ago my husband and I began our health journey with the Daniel Plan. I can’t tell you how much I LOVE this plan. It involves food, faith, fitness, focus and friends/family and is a well-rounded healthy lifestyle. There is no calorie counting just focusing on eating healthy real foods in appropriate serving sizes.
Since beginning this journey, I have been on a mission to find new healthy recipes that are quick, easy and full of healthy foods. Pinterest has been a great source, but a word of advice, don’t search Pinterest for recipes when you’re hungry. I thought I would share a few of our favorites.Read More
